ABOUT

His goal: to push boundaries, to find new ways to approach music, to audibly compliment & bring out the best in each game, and most importantly, to tell a story; one that will take players on an immersive journey & leave an incredible impact.

Nashville-based composer, producer & mix engineer born in 1997, Garrett Williamson grew up constantly writing music on piano and figuring out grooves on drums. By the time he was 10 he began recording his own music and hasn’t stopped since. He has done music for video games including Fortnite: Rocket Racing, Omega Strikers, PUBG Mobile, No Straight Roads: Encore Edition, for content creators such as Alpharad & Scott The Woz, for theme parks such as SeaWorld San Diego & Disneyland Paris, and for the award-winning documentary METAGAME.

With a lifetime musical passion, over 20 years of musical experience, and a love for video games, Garrett was always fascinated with how musicians had to approach music in games compared to the linear style of film & television. His goal has always been to constantly push boundaries, to find new ways to approach his work, to audibly compliment and bring out the best in each game and its world, and most importantly, to tell a story: one that will take players on an immersive journey and leave an incredible impact.

Some of Garrett’s largest influences include The Beatles, Michael Jackson, Paul McCartney, Foo Fighters, Janet Jackson, John Mayer, Fleetwood Mac, dc Talk, Nirvana, Chaka Khan, Jamiroquai, Frou Frou, Imogen Heap, Dirty Loops, Jacob Collier, Madison Cunningham, John Williams, Hans Zimmer, and many others. Within video game music, Garrett is heavily influenced by Koji Kondo, Jun Senoue, Tomoya Ohtani, Kazumi Totaka, Nobuo Uematsu, Ryo Nagamatsu, Richard Jacques, Yuzo Koshiro, Simon Stålenhag, Jeremy Soule, and many more.

Garrett is currently working on music for video games, content creators, and his own personal projects.
